My mother always said that if you sew on Sunday you'll have to pick it all out with your nose in heaven! (if I get there!). But I find that sewing is relaxing and so I like to relax on Sunday. YOur land and sea is sure nice.

To those who think you shouldn't sew on Sunday - WHATEVER!!!

Those of us who work spend all day Saturday cleaning, cooking, doing laundry and errands just so we CAN sew on Sunday!!!

If it is creative, relaxing and makes you happy, do it any time you like!

Love the quilt! I need a small batik collection like that, but I don't know where I'd put them!

Patty, I was amazed to read you watch Coronation street, what story line are you up to ?
My mother in law would never knit on a Sunday , she could be bored witless but would not pick up the needles.
Your quilt is lovely, beautiful colours

The debate has raged for a few thousand years over what does and does not constitute "work". According to some, the essence can be found in "G-d created the world in 6 days and on the seventh day, He rested." The follow-on reasoning is that any action that can lead to the creation of something constitutes "work", from which we should rest on the Sabbath (seventh day). ooooooooooook. here's my favorite loophole.

all the supplies and equiment we use were made and purchased on one of the other days. therefore, the question can legitimately be asked: when we work on a quilt, are we "creating"? or are we merely rearranging bits and pieces of which have already been created?

things that make you go "hmmmmmmmmmmmmm" ....

Never heard that superstition before, but it sure didn't make a bit of difference in your quilt. It's beautiful. Can't wait to see it with the borders. Did you create the pattern yourself or was it one I could find somewhere? Thanks.

As I was growing up, I always heard "Sew on Sunday, get a whipping on Monday" lol Apparently it didn't get through to me because I love to quilt on Sunday. And you're quilt is lovely.
