Sewing Weekend
#58
Wish some of you QBers who do scrappies so well could "teach" me how to be scrappy. I am so up tight when it comes to working on a scrappy. I have yet to get past the sorting stage. I've heard advice like "put them in a paper sack" or "make a stack and just used the next one on top." I've got scraps everywhere -- from really small scraps to larger pieces of perhaps FQ size. I've cut squares and strips and I've dumped odd pieces in a tub. I also have a huge pile of asssorted charms that were collected in swaps at the guild meetings. All of this just makes me grit my teeth; but yet I would love to put these together in a truly scrappy quilt. Lynnie25, you are doing really nice work while at your fishing shack.

I have just had a lovely 4 day weekend at our fishing shack and got lots of sewing done as the weather was rather dismal outside.
Most of my sewing at the lakes involves using scrap fabrics so Friday morning I turned out tubs of scraps onto the bed in my sewing room ready for the sewing to start. All of these quilts are foundation pieced.
Friday I worked on adding more rows to this scrap quilt. (Pic 2)
Saturday I started this little I Spy quilt and I am really pleased with the way it is turning out. (Pic 3 and 4) I now need to source some more I Spy pictures so I can add to this quilt.
Sunday and Monday morning I did a heap more log cabin blocks for this scrappy quilt. (Pic 5)
As you can see these projects are 'works in progress' and apart from the I Spy quilt which I brought home to finish, the others stay at the shack and will be worked on next trip (late July).
I would dearly love to have a little scrappy quilt show next March at our shack - I have dreamed how I would set it up on the verandah just have to convince DH that it will work out just the way I see it in my dream.
