Wow, I love the effect of that second quilt. What is the pattern called? It almost looks like a log cabin.

(the first one is nice, too)

The name of the quilt is Blue Betty from a pattern in Quiters world magazine.

The first one is hunter star/broken arrow. Was to be paper pieced. I made one paper pieced block then figured the sizes and strip cut the rest. The one paper pieced block is included in the quilt.

I love love love the second one!
The hunter's star is on my soon to do list... It's a project I have lined up for my best friend, who's learing to sew.

OK, I saw the name....I do that often, reply then find my answer earlier in the post....sorry!!! Waste of everyone's time. I went to Quilter's World website, and it's a fantastic magazine. So I ordered it!!! Can't wait to get it.
