Amazing results!! nice to have a new technique.. OK.. at the risk of a buzzkill... wonder how this will affect the integrity of the fabric on a long term basis.

Hi, the heat setting should take care of any long term fading, but like any dye, paint or surface additive to fabric it would depend on the conditions it is placed in. Direct sun or repeated washings would effect the piece, since I consider this creative art I would handle with care like anyother delicate fabric. These small pieces wouldn't require washing unless something unexpected happened and maybe a wool lite rinse in the tub would do the trick. I have included, beading, buttons and trims on some of the pieces so placing tulle over the piece and running the vac will get out the dust without damaging the quilt.

The Holidays are coming fast and I started making cards and gifts to continue in the sharpie marker process. Christmas ball design is real easy, cut circle and back with sharpie dyed fabric and stitch and decorate. Dyed silk scarves where colored with markers, put in a plastic bag with rubbing alcohol-squeezed to move the ink around and complete the process with heat setting. Moosegirl
