Cool Shine on you Crazy Diamond Finished!!!

I named this quilt Crazy Diamond as I think I must have lost my mind in designing it and piecing it! This quilt took many months (I think more than 3). At first I started with 4 inch pieces and realized you would not see the diamonds on the top of the bedspread - it was going to spill so far over the sides you would not see the pattern as a whole so after 12 rows I cut all the pieces down to 3 inches and added more to the sides/top/bottom to accommodate the for smaller pieces. I will post pics after it is quilted on the bed - it looks pretty good!

The idea came from an ad I saw (pic attached). Using EQ7 i created the design (attached - I did modify the final product a bit but it was close) and got to work. The quilt is entirely made from Batiks and for each pair of colors I selected a solid watercolor and a patterned batik so it was not so flat.

I am glad it is done and looks pretty neat even if it did not turn out as 3D as I would have liked. This one is for my bed and is a CA king. I learned a lot about EQ7 in the process so it was a win/win!

In the photo it looks very 3D. Absolutely love it! Have you considered quilting it with the horizontal lines to achieve the look in the ad. Congrats on a beautiful quilt.
