Over a year ago, my DD visited, after her last deployment to Kuwait. We attended the local quilt show, and we had such fun choosing some fabrics for me to make her a quilt. I finally got around to making her the shining star quilt, that looks like a lone star, but uses HST instead of diamonds. Finished the quilting last night, washed and dried it. The back is flannel, and the label is a "Hello Kitty" piece. I did SITD around the star, and some creative stuff elsewhere, even writing a message in the outer border. The batting is Warm and White, and it is a lap sized throw. Will mail it to her later this week. It has to be one of the prettiest quilts I have ever made!

How pretty. I love how the star is done. I may even try that one.

Your quilt is very pretty. Was it easier to do using HST? I tried to do a lonestar many years ago but had so much problems with everything stretching. I now have alot more know how but still have stayed away from it.
