I have one my grandmother made and will take a photo later for you all. She gave it to me about 40 years ago. She said it would be great for my cats to sleep on. I never let them! I still have it and treasure it. Its a yoyo quilt with many of the fabrics torn already.

I have several antique quilts. I will try to post some of the pictures. I was also thinking of putting some of them on the classified board but don't know if there would be a market for them.

Made by Mrs Ruth Dixon, Tennessee in 1936. Hand pieced and quilted with scalloped edges

Made in 1912 by DH's Great Grandmother Higby. Made from old shirts

Hand made baby blanket from 1929

oh darn...I have so many...but I just got TWO new ones this weekend..have to get pix of them tomorrow to share...

here are a couple from the late 1800's

The textile historian I am working with said NOT to wash any of these....I wish I could though...

civil war era signature block quilt

estimated to be 1860 or earlier

loo how vibrant that pink is..and look at those lovely old SHIRTINGS...wish we could find them now!

in bottom left corner look how the fabric totally disintegrated. This was the iron oxide dyes that were used.

notice that GREEN...how could you miss it..hehehe

yes..the first one was found at an estate auction..I paid $2.00 for it!
The second was found in a garbage bag at a barn sale in Cherokee and I gave the lady $1.00 for it!

I also have a Temperance quilt I bought at auction for $1.00 but can't find the pix of it...

I'm in Enid, too. Can I stalk you as you go to estate sales? LOL

Here are a couple of tops that I have been hanging on to, hoping someday to hand quilt them. With all my hand surgeries, I think that ship has sailed, but still take them out and admire them once in awhile. They are all handpieced.

The first one is all indigos, shirtings, muslin and a couple of ginghams. Probably late 1890s or early 1900s. Still crisp..never washed.

The second on is called Martha's Choice, or Hearts and Gizzards. I have not been able to determine if it is cheddar, but it certainly is the right color. It will need a thin border, and I keep hoping to someday find a piece of cheddar to finish it.

The third one is gorgeous, despite the bad picture. I hung it on the clothesline and snapped the picture.

I have two treasures from from late FIL's. Sadly, there is no provenance on them and no one in the family knows who made them. Will try to get pictures of them soon.

I sent you a PM...can't wait to hear back from you!

NOW...according the historian..DO NOT get these quilts quilted!
If they are more than 50 years old and done by hand especially avoid having them quilted!
#1- the fabrics are OLD..they will not hold up the strenuous use anyway, so why bother...
#2- they could never be laundered
#3- the textiles history is worth more if you can see the front and back of it...

The list goes on!
