A friend of my DDIL lost her DH to cancer last year. He was young, probably in his 30s to early 40s, and he was in the military. She brought a bunch of his shirts to me while I was visiting in Oklahoma recently, and asked if I would make 2 quilts, one for each of the children, so they could have something to remind them of their father. They are going to be twin sized quilts.

I drew the design of the quilts in progeCAD, a free computer aided drafting program similar to AutoCAD. I find it easier to design this way, to let the computer do the math for me. :D

This is the first top. I am debating about placing a few red star appliqués scattered around. What do you think?

I think some bright red applique stars would tie the reds together! You did a mighty fine job on the quilt, she will love it!!

I think the red stars in the right place would look good.
