This quilt is for my sister in law who hinted that she would love her very own quilt for Christmas, after she had complimented me on my first quilt. I asked what she wanted and she wanted to be able to curl up with it on the couch and that her favorite colors were pink and green. She said she loved everything I've made so whatever I picked would be good! How could I resist after that kind of compliment? Pattern is a Jacob's Ladder with 6 different fabrics from Micheal Miller Gypsy Bandana. Second quilt I've pieced, first time for FMQ. I am really proud of the border quilting!

You can see the two embroidery labels in this picture

Really your first FMQ! Awesome, I am so jealous - I haven't the guts to try it yet. Loving the colors - I like bold statement fabrics and this is perfect. Your sister will LOVE it!

Absolutley gorgeous, love those colors!! I made a baby quilt with those same colors and I think they go good with each other.

Opps, forgot to say she did just get it today(didn't want her to miss any snuggle time) and she called and gushed about it!

It is beautiful! The first picture, from a distance, the blocks looked like a printed panel, and I was WOWED when I saw how well you achieved the blending of those pinks. I am so happy to hear that she gushed over it.

So pretty!! I really love the pattern you chose. I love the gypsy bandana prints! I used some this summer (in clothing). I have some scraps left, but I think I'll need more for a quilt!!.

About the FMQ, I say just go for it! I did watch a lot of youtube videos and did research. I also think I avoided a lot of tension and drag problems by buying quilting gloves, the supreme slider(I have since added vinyl on the sewing table and ironing board to help with the bulk of the quilt) and the Little Genie Magic Bobbin Washers. I had 3 thread snarls on the back of the whole quilt and that was it. Just start with something you don't really care about, like practice sandwiches or a panel.

Well, they were from a collection so they all just went together. it is a fairly busy and wild quilt, but I think it works. Specially for her,I would have made myself something a little more calming. Thanks for the WOW!
