    Default DGDs quilt

This is my DGD Nickayla's quilt, she loves purple and pink. The fairie blocks were copied from a colouring book, and I used colouring pencils and fabric medium. The centre panel was prompted by designs from Anne Gadsby with bobbin work using thicker threads outlining much of it. If doing it again, I would use different fabrics. The border is really purple, if it looks blue.
The photos are not very clear due no doubt to my non-understanding of the settings on a new camera.
Same applies to the new Android - I don't dare buy a new mobile phone - too much info to absorb, lol, am brain dead most of the time. Now for 2nd DGD, who has moved up from her cot to a big-girl's bed.

What a lovely mushroom castle. Pretty quilt. I'm sure she will treasure it always.

Very pretty! I really like the borders. Would you Please give a short run down how you cut the strips? Tinker

Lovely quilt! Your border looks like a lot of work but definitely a nice frame for the quilt.

I'm also interested in how you did the borders.

Will give this a go. I drew an 8" square, mark the centre of each side and ruled another square - on point - inside. Marked and ruled lines perhaps1.5" inside the inner square and out to the edges, then erased a couple of smaller lines so one colour 'flowed' over the other. I think I worked with 2" strips which included 1/2" for seams. I measured each piece in each row and cut and sewed strips, adding more to the end pieces for seams and squaring up. These were cross cut into 2" units. Hope this is a bit clearer than mud. The photos should help. Playing with these will occupy everyone on the weekend
    Happy stitching ladies.
