My first thought was tan sashing between the blocks....but then after a second look a dark color would be better...dark blue or burgandy would look nice. What size are your blocks...what size do you want the finished quilt to be and do you have more than the 12 blocks shown?

You might want to line them like in a suduko quilt where it empisises each square kinda like a tic tac toe board. Your quilt is beautiful. Where did you ever find the fabric that you used as the pictures in the frames? The quilt is very beautiful.

They're very nice blocks...I like them as they are. If you're not worried about the size of the finished quilt then go with whatever you like as far as sashing and borders. Maybe a different layout of the blocks will speak to you. Not much help am I...it's too early in the morning for me. I'll sleep on it and give you another opinion later.

i would just attach the rows to each other as they are laid out. that gives you 4-strip borders between all the main sections of the blocks.
my habit is to pick one of the colors from the blocks and make a narrow inner border of that color. about an inch wide.
after that, i'd add at least 3" of something. i'm "lazy" so would probably add a solid-strip border, but you might consider a string-pieced border using any scraps you have left over.
if i pieced the wider second border, i'd tie it all together again with another 1-inch solid-strip border.
i'll bet you get lots of good - probably better - suggestions over the next day or so. :-)
p.s. - it's pwiiiiidy :-)
