Thanks so much for showing this bag and the link to the instructions! I had seen ones made this way with a narrow purchased closure, but had not found a source for the original ones I saw. Now I can make the tapestry bags I've been wanting to do. WooHoo!

Made a small one of these. DH warned me that you might not be able to wash them because the metal tape measure will rust.

He may be right but you could cover lightly with electrical tape maybe?

Great bag and idea. I will pass on DH's tool box. He doesn't mess with my sewing stuff and I don't mess with his tool box.

I've made over 20 of the small size, cosmetic bag size. They go like "hot cakes". So much fun to make and a good way to use scraps and left over batting.

Yes I did sooo many of them using up pieces of this and that and just love doing them...make handy little gifts when you just need a little something...
