So I decided to try foundation paper piecing...

And here is what I made with my first attempt! I think I really, really like the paper piecing, even though it does take me a little longer.Name: 20181016_183446.jpg

Very good, I haven't tried it yet, not really wanting to try something new.

Tried challenging myself a bit more this time. Still need to sandwich it, but my back has given me my warning that I've done enough sewing for tonightName: 20181016_234543.jpg

Those first two look great. I still have trouble with paper piecing but I haven't given up on it yet. Some day I will master it.

Enjoy your mug rug. It turned out great! I have a tip for you: I always spray a bit of fabric protector (scotch guard is one brand) on my place mats with light fabrics. It keeps the ugly stains away!

The more you do it, the easier it gets and you learn some of the tricks, It was confusing to me at first but now I really do it without thinking

I love paper piecing! More than patchwork in fact. I love how accurate I can be with such scraps of fabric and the detail of the pictures you can achieve.

if you use craftsy look up quiltartdesigns - her blocks are fab and she is giving away some cute monster patterns each day this week for Halloween
