You said you want a Wow! quilt....what about just sitting and thinking a little bit more? Right now it's got great potential with all that color and it's moving towards a more modern quilt with the white. If you had used black where the white was, I would suggest leaving it as it on the board and then putting it together...it would have a strong Amish feel.
But this one has more potential than as it is displayed. I liked the Pinterest suggestion and the idea of the 4 patch, tho I'd only go as far as the pinwheel and leave the final couple of steps alone. And remember, you don't have to use every square you have. Why not open up the design a little bit and save some of the leftover squares for the back or for another quilt. I just don't know if you're going to get your Wow! by putting it together as it stands. Take a look at some of the modern quilt images on google images and give it some thought. Those colors are so pretty and so bright and asking for something special in their placement.
