Daughter, Angie, does sew - clothes and misc. craft projects. This is her first quilt made for a girl at her work who is having a baby in a couple of weeks. Her coworkers took up a collection for the materials and told her to keep whatever was left over - $5 and not even a half yard of fabric total, we planned very carefully (-;

She added stuffing behind the owl body and the moon - hard to see that in pictures and it makes it more cuddly, kind of like a mini-pillow in the middle of the quilt.

The colors are a little more vivid that photos show, but you get the idea. She used VERY tiny rick rack for the vest details and SID.
She did a fabulous job of quilting - NO puckers on the back at all - I'm jealous.

AND she hand sewed all of the binding!

Magazine where she got her inspriation.

Finished quilt with my Grandsons head.

Close up of details - tiny tiny rick rack for vest and wing details. I just LOVE the fabric 'outside' the windows.

It's absolutley adorable - I can see why you'd be a proud mom! My only question - is there any quilting in the window area and borders? It's kind of hard to see in the picture. If not, she might want to add some so that the batting doesn't shift when it is washed. It is sure to be well loved by the baby, so will be washed often.
