Boo, You are too funny! I am sure you would look fabulous in it. You all inspire me! I initially join this board a few months ago but really did not participate. You know how work gets in the way of our creative life ! Work is still work, but I was determine to be part of the group and become an active member. I am so glad to share with you all.

It's funny, after I created the coat and wore it to my guild meeting, 4 ladies asked me do a private workshop for them and asked how much would I charge. This being my first workshop, I gave them a price thinking they would never go for it. To my surprise, they agreed. That's when I really I got nervous about it since I've only been quilting only 4 years and they've been quilting for many years. Well, I did the workshop and each of their jackets came out so well! They love them. Thank you for the positive feedback.

BJ from NYC.

Way to go!!!! We had a thread not long ago about how to value your work and to consider it art. I think you have just affirmed for us all that while we knew it was art, it was time to act like it too! Good job!

Yes it's a pattern. Basically you make your own fabric. You take a bunch of fat quarters and cut them into various sized lengths but keep the width measurement the same. You start making strips then add the strips together. Ultimately you make 3 big pieces. You machine quilt them then wash them. Are you tired yet reading this? It is alot of work! You use these 3 pieces to lay out the coat pattern on. Once you cut out all the pieces (sleeves, front, back, collar, etc.), you can then couch decorative yarns on top of each piece. Still not tired? Then you sew the coat together.

You can get the pattern here:

Enjoy.

BJ,

I hereby declare you are no longer allowed to claim the status of "Beginner", "Newbie", or "Inexperienced". In addition, you are also banned from using such phrases as "I've ONLY been quilting for..." and "I have trouble with color...". You are being promoted, whether you like it or not, and are encouraged to join our BOtM.

You are very talented, and I'm so glad you allowed yourself to value your own work enough, as Vicki previously stated, to do the workshop. Great job!!

Rock on Girl!!! (I'm going to go practice... )

Wow. I will take the promotion gladly  Thank you so much for the encouragements. I will look at the BOM thread and will try to jump in. I think I'll be way behind but will do my best.

Thanks again.

bj, I can't believe it, I already have that pattern. You did such a great job with your color choices that I didn't even recognize it as the Noelle Jacket. Guess I better get busy this summer so I have a new coat by fall.
