Not sure I like the border. Its too distracting from the Plate. Maybe if you used a couple of the colors from the actual plate material it would look better? JMHO.

I agree, both borders and the corners do not match the dresden center. I love both, they are great looking at but not together

The borders are way too dark. I think you should have used much lighter fabric. The border looks way too busy and dark.

The border might look better if you were to use the gold or yellow instead of the green. I think the navy and green just put too much impact on the block! I love the Dresden though. Its looking great!

In my opinion, the border is proportionately too large for the center; so I would make the border pieces smaller and change the green color--perhaps to the blue used in the center.

I would not have used either border. If it were mine, I would have put a red thin border where the brownish one is. Then maybe a bigger border in the same fabric as the Dresden & then a blue border last. I do like the birds in the corners. The blue & green border is great for something else. It would even make an awesome quilt all on its own & alternate each strip. Your Dresden is awesome.

I think the border is really neat but overwhelming-it doesn't seem to fit with the other fabrics.
