    Embroidered specs case for a friend's birthday - made this afternoon.

    Very nice! Did you use a pattern, or figure it out as you went? I love the purples.

    No pattern, just based on a 7" square. It is quilted all the way round.
    I put the lining (lavender in this case) face to face on the top fabric, which is already quilted to the batting,
    then stitch along the top edge.
    Open out flat lengthways, fold over RS's together and seam all along the quilted side seam and lining seam.
    Pull lining over the quilted bit and seam along bottom edge.
    Turn out so lining inside, RS outside.
