Default Flowers in the Stars--Finished for DGD Aged 11

This is a pattern that I adapted from a picture in a catalog. The focus fabric is a square in a square with a secondary pattern formed that makes stars when viewed from a distance. I just loved the floral fabric from the first time I saw it and since purple/burgundy is my DGD's favorite color, it seemed a perfect match for her. The LAer did a great job with the tonal fabric in the borders creating lush feathers using Hobbs 10/20 with a top of poly. Hope you like it.
On the design wall. This color was hard to photograph accurately.
Showing those borders and the corner came together with feathers so nicely.

Closeup of the star blocks formed by the burgundy around the focus fabrics.

Backing flipped up over the quilt top. Never have too much purplish fabric for this child.

Fisheye view of the middle of the borders where the feathers came together. The color is funky but couldn't get it to reflect accurately. I hope all have a good weekend.
