DJ - I LOVE LOVE LOVE your tree skirt and stockings! So funny that we did the same type of thing with the colors! The button loops you did are fabulous. I'm a beginning quilter, so I was afraid to try a binding on the circle, so I just pillowcased mine. Yours looks so professional!

I was also thinking that I needed to make something with the opposite wedges - although I was thinking scrappy table runner - but your stockings give me ideas... hmmmmm....

Very nice skirt, I think it looks better without the ruffle. Your tree will look beautiful with this.

Lara, question: since you used 9 fabrics instead of the 4 in original pattern I assume you used each fabric once in the strip sets. Did you just move the first 4 down (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 then 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1 etc). If not would you mind sharing you method? If it shouldn't go here a PM if you have time to unchain from your machine and don't mind. Thanks!

I think it's OK to share here - I guess I'll find out if it's not!

Yes, I used each fabric once in each set of 9 strips and I prepared 9 sets of strips. Half of the WOF is more than enough for each set because you cut only 4 wedges from each set of strips. The sets are ordered as follows:

123456789
234567891
345678912
456789123
567891234
678912345
789123456
891234567
912345678

Hopefully that makes sense with the pattern. If you do it this way, you need enough fabric to cut 5 WOF strips of each of nine colors. You'll have lots left over - reverse wedges and end pieces - to make a table runner or stockings or something.

I hope you do it! I'd love to see it!
