Below are pics of another vintage quilt top that I recently made into a quilt for a friend. The top was made (all hand-pieced) by Mary Susan (Weathers) Senter, and she was born in 1843 and died in 1937 at age 93. She married Robert Winthrop Senter in 1861 when she was 18. So the top predates at least 1937. From the fabrics used, they look to be 1930s fabrics, so it looks like she probably made this one in her final years.

I just did a free-motion quilt pattern all over it so it will hopefully help it hold up from any deterioration, and did a plain white backing. I added a soft green binding using a Windham Storybook fabric to help pull out the greens in the fabrics she used. I really like the look of pinks and greens together. :D

I am soooo glad you acquired these vintage quilts. I have been watching what you do to them and you certainly do them justice. Your work is excellent in everything you do, so these quilts have found the right place to go.
