These are some pictures of a series of Quilt display racks that I have built over the years for use in various places in our house. They are made of Cherry, (in case you haven't guessed, my favorite wood), and relate in size to the intended items to be displayed. They are in various rooms in use for display of the quilts and to have them available for timely usage. All of these quilt rack designs are patterned after some 19th Century quilt racks that I saw in various Shaker Museums that I have visited.

John, could you please share with me the pattern with the Celtic design...it is beautiful. Also, your racks are very pretty!
Thanks

I know that it looks Celtic, but it is called Tibetan Endless Knot. It is one of the traditional designs that Tibetan monks use on there devotional items, such as Altar Cloths or, in this case, Meditation shawls. I made them by constructing the knot as a separate piece, and then appliquéd that piece to the top of a to be diamond quilted shawl sized top and then quilted it. They turned out nicely and we use them for meditating in the winter months in the Attic room that we use for that purpose, for that little bit of extra comfort for these tired old bones. They spend most of the time just sitting there looking pretty.

They are very nice quilt racks. I do like them and may have to show my husband. The quilts that are showcased are superb.
