Well, after 12 years (can't believe that!!) I have finished this quilt for my son Davee. Started it in a workshop with Barb Cleaver, a very special and dear friend of mine who tutors patchwork here in Australia. She is a very inspirational woman! Began 1998 with a single size in mind - Davee was only 13 at the time ... put away after major changes in life ... picked up again 2006 - changed sizes of course and found I was short some of the fabrics of course ... put away after again big changes ... decided this year he was getting it for his 25th Birthday! Well, a bit late as it was 1st October ... I finished it over Christmas whilst he was visiting us. I love it - Davee LOVES it ... what a special time to present it to him! Had to post it home for him as he had lots of luggage on his return - Santa delivered whilst he was here. Hope you enjoy seeing his quilt ... It is made quilt as you go - Log cabin - traditional pieced and set Barn Raising, with stars in the sashing - hence the name "Stars in Davee's Barn". A special quilt for a very loved young man.

It's beautiful -- log cabins are my favorite design -- great job.

BEAUTIFUL..log cabin was the first thing I ever tried quilting I still am partial to it. So much you can do with that block. So glad you finally could finish it for your son.

Beautiful quilt. One of my most prized possessions is a grandmother's flower garden quilt that my mother started in 1927 and finished in 1965. Just proves a masterpiece takes time.
