Not been posting much of any of my work recently, seem to have halted on the watercolour quilt and I need to put the borders on it and its not talking to me.
I saw this one and fell in love with it. So far its only been ironed onto the blocks and will be hand sewn (thats the idea anyway). I am working with one piece of batik fabric which has some beautiful colours on it and a few scraps of batiks to add interest. These are the batiks on the black background and some will be a shadow, meaning black flower shape on batik.
Anyway here goes with the posting, will be interested in your comments.

I love art nouveau and your quilt is the first I've seen in this style. The batik fabric is very effective and I can't wait to see the finished project. WOW, WOW, WOW......get it done fast-------Was this a kit or a design of your own?

Thank you every one your lovely comments are inspiring me.
The quilt that I fell in love with was made by one of our Guild Members and she very kindly sold me the remainder of the fabric she had for her quilt. I thought it might be too like her quilt but she insisted that it would look completely different and so far she is so right.
the Book it comes from is called Art Nouveau Garden by Claire Oehler and Nancy Mirman. It shows the quilt on a quite background which doesnīt do it justice.
Using batiks makes it glow and you are right it does look like a painting.
I will post as I go along so you can see what I mean by the shadow designs.
