I still have a lot to learn about colors...how to pick the right ones. o

I have made two D9P tops using layer cakes. No pics of them yet but just went with my DD to get a few extra fabrics to finish two quilts that need to match that I am making for her. We had no pattern and she does not quilt so she could not tell me she really wanted. While walking through the store she spotted one she really liked and when I looked at it closely I realized it was a D9P...ahh relief went over me cuz I know I can do that one!
Thank you for sharing your process because I just realized the way you have set yours up is exactly like the one she liked! Now I have something to refer to when I work on hers!

I am still amazed oh tough it looks but it is so easy to make. I may never do another type of quilt. and just by turning the blocks in different directions it looks totally different. For this one I made it so no seams touched. which works great if you do not have pictures that need to be a certain way.

Finished...I did the binding a bit different and by machine quilting, it is alright but not the best. I used the zipper foot, which worked good. I first stitched on the back side and bought it to the front side and sewed. next time I will not use 2 1/2 for my binding if I do this I will cut back to 2 1/4.

When doing the machine stitching I think it would be easier and the back of the quilt would be nicer too.If using a piping than 2 1/2 would be good but with out piping can cut back for a tighter fit.I am liking the machine stitching vs hand stitching. I am trying to find the best method. I tried the stitch in the ditch...did not like that. I just did the zipper stitch, I like the looks of that.
