Default Blocks from Sunny and Warm Hawaii

The past few weeks have been nothing but snow and freezing temperature. I didn't feel like quilting so I pushed my sewing machines aside and started doing blocks from a Hawaiian quilt book I purchased years ago. Working on these made me think of warm and sunny Hawaii and wishing that I could leave this cold and dreary New England winter. I have finished 7 blocks so far, 5 more to go and I will make a queen size quilt.

Wow those are beautiful and I love that blue batik you are using. Are these needle turn applique? Will you hand quilt this beauty the traditional Hawiian quilt way? (Echo stitching a finger widith around each?)

Your winter work is a feast for our eyes. Wonderful selection of fabric. Hope that you will show us the completed pieces (and quilt) when done -- and no, that doesn't mean we hope you continue to have cold weather.

Beautiful blocks! The winter usually doesn't bother me but even I am saying, enough already!

Those are beautiful. Did you needle turn, or fuse, or satin stitch? Maybe my monitor but I can't tell. Be sure and post the finished quilt.
