Default String quilt.......finally done!

Pretty sure I've spent more time on this little 72x60 quilt than on any I've made, even the Union Jack I paper pieced or others that are far bigger than this one. The main reason for that is my ripping all the quilting out after it was almost fully done. But I'm glad I went to that trouble; the first quilting, done in a serpentine stitch which I normally love, looked awful. The quilting is still not perfect, and, because I was pretty tired of it by then, I was lazy about the binding. I machine stitched it on top and it shows in places on the back.

But, oh well......it's finished, and it's colorful and I've grown fond of it........plus I learned a lot about making string quilts.

I may never give this one away; there's too much of "me" in it, lol!

Photos are of front and back. Not sure what the white spot is on the back but it's not something on the quilt.

Very pretty quilt and I agree with you that you need to keep this one. The back looks awesome too. So now do you like making string quilts?

Beautifully done. Love how you pieced the back also.

That's a great string quilt. I love it. I often (admit it, usually) sew the binding by machine on the quilt top. I have found that permanent markers hide errors quite effectively. You can get them in a pack of many colors. Just dab the marker on the offending stitches and they disappear. The quilt police may not like it, but fortunately, they don't get any of my quilts.
