What about stipple around the dresses to make them pop? They are adorable.

I think I would stitch in the ditch on the sashings and do a fairly small stipple around the dresses.

I like echo quilting around the designs and SID for the borders.

I am never sure what to do with mine...especially if I am doing it...I can't FMQ well yet, so I just stare at it for a while and eventually it speaks to me. I like the stippling around the dresses idea...but that might distract from the arms and embroidery detail. I am watching to see the suggestions too.

I wouldnt go over your applique, but perhaps outline (echo) the applique and then do a stipple on the white only. Everything else would pop. Pretty quilt. Nice job.

Yes, custom. Outlining the design and then doing stippling/McTavishing/etc. in the background of the block. Beautiful quilt top!
