Absolutely gorgeous. Colors are breathtaking. A few questions, if you don't mind. Needleturn? Did you use batiks for the entire project? Just noticed the size, is it really 60"x48"?
Thanks for sharing this gorgeous project. Just stunning.

To answer a few questions:
The size turned out to be 58x46, borders are 2 inches shy of the designers, I probably trimmed too much when squaring it up!
It truly is my very first applique piece. I've appliqued the centers of a few blocks but nothing this big as a whole.
Front & back in all batiks. This was a personal challenge to work with so many multi-directional prints! Normally, I work with small prints & have been called a "purist" in the past for being a block maker in so many projects.
I have been swapping charms in QB for 4 yrs & hope to do a colorwash in 2018, wish me luck, I'll need it!
hugs,
dj

Oh, the background was machined pieced batik squares. The flowers, stems, & leaves were needle turned & hand quilted, and the back was quilted in invisible navy blue squares. The batting is natural unbleached cotton.

I love that quilt. Your colors are much, much prettier than what the pattern calls for. You did a fantastic job on that "first" for you. Can't wait to see your colorwash quilt when it is finished.
