I made this for my daughter for her birthday. She is an archeologist who specializes in the Teotiuachan in the Valley of Mexico. She loves the Day of the Dead fabric.. but, she isnt a girly girl, so I left off the ties on the sides and added a zipper.

I really do like this without the ties and adding the zipper. Was adding the zipper hard? I'm waiting for my bow tuck pattern to arrive so I can start my first one!

Well, it was an experiment, so I probably didnt do it the easiest way, so it was a little difficult.. Ill be thinking about how to make it easier.. I didnt take into account that the zipper is closed on both ends...making it hard to get the second side under the presser foot.

Also, since I didnt add the bows, I took the tuck with my sewing machine on the inside of the bag.

Have had my pattern for awhile and still have not tried it.
I am a show and tell person. Not a read pattern and do.
I wanted so bad to make a couple for Christmas gifts, but I have a feeling the pattern will still be unopened in Jan.

How appropriate for your daughter. I'm not a skeleton kind of gal, but I actually like your purse and that fabric!!! And I prefer a zipper, as well. Good job and thanks for showing it to us.

I love the purse too. I am waiting for my bow tuck pattern as we speak. Going to give it a try too.

Really cute and I love the way this looks with out the ties on the side. Nice job!
