Default Thanks for the elephant pattern... here's what I made

A few weeks ago I asked you all for a free elephant pattern and got several suggestions. I decided on Prism 99's suggestion (http://quiltinggallery.com/2009/03/2...block-pattern/). I adapted it for paper piecing and made this quilt for my yet to be born great great niece. I stitched it on my 1947 featherweight and plan to FMQ it on the FW as well. The quilt measures 42" x 45".... that's not a usual baby quilt size but I hope it will be good for the baby to lay on to play or get cuddled in. Thanks Prism 99 for the great suggestion..... and others for their suggestions as well. The baby's room is brown and pink stripes and pink stuffed elephants around the room. I hope my great niece likes my design.

Your elephant quilt is adorable! It has a great modern look that today's new mom will love!

Very nice, that is going to be so cute in the baby's room. Nice featherweight, very similar to mine which I use for all my piecing.

Thanks, Tartan. I was worried about the quilt not being modern enough for this mom. I hope you're right. She lives a long way from me so I've not seen the room up front and personal.

Annie, I love my FWs. I have a fancy embroidery machine that I bought several years back but I use the FW most of the time anymore. I can't get away from the click, click, click sound she makes.... love it.

Thanks for the comment, Nan. I'd never done elephants before and had to adapt the pattern for paper piecing but it turned out, I think.

Darling quilt!! You've done a super job on it! Love the elephants! Your FW could be a twin to mine.
