Julie in NM...you did. I did post where I found it, too, on the original post. The 2nd one I just cut it down 2" all around. This week I found that she has instructions for an 8x8, so I think with the leftover scraps I have I will make that one, too. I may keep that one for myself & sell the other 2...I prefer small purses for myself.

What a great purse. I love the idea of repurposing the pillow shams

I am so glad you posted that you buy these beautiful quilted shams too. I have a collection all ready to go for purses and totes. I have bought many of these for just $1.00 a sham. Yours turned out just the way I am thinking mine will turn out too. I do like the little ribbon on the zipper, neat touch.

That was the first time I had bought shams to make as purses...I haven't found any that just struck me that way since. I have lots of upholstry fabrics & denims...never mind the extensive cotton stash...for my purses. Would love to see some pics of yours...bet they'll be beautiful too! BTW, if the pull has a hole in it...I put a ribbon pull on it...no matter if it's outside or inside; just makes it easier to find & pull the zipper. I have always done it on my purses & found that people really like it.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
