I made this the other day, I feel it is too long and want to shorten it by a row...HOWEVER, my husband feels it is a good size and says leave it alone...It is for his cousin's baby shower next weekend..

Thoughts???

Thanks for looking! :-)

Cute!

What size is it right now? If you take off a row, approx what size would it be. It is really hard to judge the size by the picture. ;)

It might be long for a baby quilt...but he/she won't be a baby forever!

It is now 51x63....I would remove an entire row of 12 inch squares, so it would be close to 51x51 (give or take)

Your quilt is adorable. I had the same dilemma with a baby quilt I made. It ended up about 58" x 70" and I'm leaving it. I feel it will be usable way beyond the "baby" years this way. I am, however, making a smaller version of the one I did for a cousin.

Either size will work but if you keep it 50x60 the child can use it as a toddler quilt on a toddler bed and later as a lap quilt. I personally would keep the row. If you want it more as a play mat I would take the row off. The pattern looks like it would lend itself well for a toddler quilt too.

it's a great quilt. if it's for a baby, i'd be tempted to take a row off too.
