It can always be folded in half when the baby is small. The quilt is lovely!

The baby will grow and will use it as a toddler and young person. It looks great and you did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.

Remember that the little one is going to grow and grow and grow. Do you want it to stay a baby quilt, or a quilt that will maybe become their favorite to drag around and bundle up in?

Leave it longer, as the baby will grow into it! :)

I was thinking leave it longer, so it can be used as the child gets bigger, which it will do very soon. Until then, the excess can be folded up at the bottom of the bed. Just my thought, since it is already on there.

I think it looks like a great sized quilt for baby to roll around on on the floor. Sometimes the smaller quilts are not big enough and baby has rolled off the quilt onto the floor. It is your choice, but I would leave it as it is. Pretty quilt though.
