Hi All....I've posted a couple of times about making 3 lap quilts out of my brother's shirts (he passed away almost 3 yrs ago now) for me, my sister and my mother. well I finally cut up all the shirts and laid out the first one. it's just simple square blocks, I'm not a very good quilter so this was easy for me and it will do the job I want them to.....be able to snuggle under his quilts esp when I'm missing him! anyway here is what I've laid out for my mother's quilt, very basic & simple.

Your mother is going to love this quilt. She can snuggle under it.

what a blessing for your family! I have done this with my father's clothes, making hand woven rugs out of his double knit slacks.
OUt of my mom's housecoats I made rugs for my sister and myself.
years of wonderful memories.

Beautiful idea and quilt. I wish I had been into quilting when my father died. He had so many shirts that would have been great for memorial quilts.

Great job. I wish I would have done that when my husband passed away.

Thanks ladies! I just started sewing the squares on to muslin to make it more sturdy and easy to sew and man that is proving to be difficult! I love this project but I hate working w/ shirt material! LOL
