I'm undecided what to do with the quilting on this baby quilt. I will probably stitch in the ditch around the sashing. I could use some ideas for the large blocks and 9-patch blocks. I don't want to do diagonal stitching in the 9patch. I am fairly comfortable with FMQ. What would you do?

EDIT: It's really straight, it's just hanging crooked. :)

What an adorable top! I have trouble with the quilting part, too. Usually I just meander.

Follow the curly Q's (for want of better explanation) in your large blocks.

Exactly what I thought. Follow the swirly design that is representing the water that is beige in color in the large blocks. When you get to a sea critter just follow the tan outline of that as well. It will look terrific and no marking needed!

That was my first thought too, follow the swirly lines in the big blocks, and then do a starfish or turtle or fish outline in the nine patches. Maybe a different one in each nine patch?
very cute quilt!

What a fun quilt! I think it would look adorable if the quilting could include some little turtles.
