I just got this top finished for our nephew. I have been trying to decide if it needs another border, perhaps in a maroon or a burgundy. Its a good size as it is, he will be 9 yrs old in a few months.

Thanks!

The whole quilt

I love it like it is, but would also look good with maroon border. very pretty!

It looks great! If it is big enough you could just bind it with the deep red colour, but 9 yr olds are still growing so making it bigger won't come amiss either.

Oooooo! I like it. I think another border would be great. Do you have fabric similar in color to the red in the quilt. I love how you put sashing around each disappearing block and how each block is different. Gives it a nice clean, smooth look. You did a wonderful job with this quilt.

I don't think I have enough of a dark red to do another border but I am heading to the fabric store Monday to get the backing fabric and of course add to the stash so I will look.

This was my first D9P and I am real pleased with how easy it was and how nice it came out. I still have 2 more to do, this time for girls and an applique quilt to finish. All that before Dec 6!

Thanks for all the compliments and suggestions!

If it was mine, I would add the additional border.

An additional border in a darker color would be nice, though it is great as it is too!!!

IMAO I would add another contrast-border, although it looks great even without it.
