I'm going to do mostly stitch in the ditch quilting but the borders are so wide that I will have to quilt in there too. I was thinking of making templates out of the 2 logos below. Can I quilt those patterns with my walking foot or will I have to get a darning foot and do free-motion?

You can do it with a walking foot, but it's awkward. It would be easier to handle the quilt if you did it with the free motion foot. The only problem I have with that is keeping the line straight. I did try to hold a ruler up against the foot, but it needs to be thicker, maybe 1/4 inch so the foot doesn't skip over the ruler.
