Default Traveling quilt

I am a member of a Modern Quilt Guild here in Maine. In 2018 we participated in a “traveling quilt” project where I made my first block and journaled about my quilting inspiration and then the quilt was passed to a different member each month who then added a block or section to my quilt. Some of it had been pieced but some blocks were left loose so I finally (like a jigsaw puzzle) put it all together. I just took it off the longarm after nearly 10 days of ruler work and some FMQ and rolling it back and forth. It is the first time I attached the binding on the longarm too, now I just have to hand stitch it to the back.

I bet this was a fun project shared among your MQG - did each member pass along their own 'traveling quilt'? I so love the cheerfulness and randomness of the design/layout and you look to be having a lot of fun on your Q, too!

Fabulous finish

This looks to be a fun and memory filled quilt. The journey will be well remembered for many years to come. Beautiful quilt.

Your quilt is so eclectic. It does give the impression that all the participants focused on the journey and Created an amazing destination.

Where is the final journey for a traveling quilt? The quilt is very inspirational.

that is just so cool! I'm becoming more and more modern in my quilts--trying to use up some of my more traditional fabrics now for Christmas presents so I have space for more modern fabrics!
