Default Trying to beat the HEAT!!!!

In addition to 95+ degree temps here we have also had 70%+ humidity (not normal for our area) and so I have been doing anything and everything to get my mind off the heat. I picked up this pattern from Kathy Schmitz a few months ago because I was intrigued by the embroidery work. I haven't done any hand embroidery since I was a teenager.

I decided right away I wasn't a fan of the black and cream. In my mind when I think of winter, blue comes to mind. So this was my interpretation of the pattern.

Now if it would only do the trick and bring us some cooler weather!

How cute, and you're right, it has been hot. I just moved down from Oregon, where they're also having a hot summer. I've been thinking about doing some hand embroidery too. I think it was the first kind of hand work I learned as a child, and like you I haven't done any in a very long time. And I think I still have some of those very old embroidery skeins - yikes! I wonder if they're any good now.

Beautiful. I love it! I love your change from black to blue. Adorable. Thank you for including the pattern name and designer. I just might need to look this one up.
