I have only been doing LAQ for about a year and I can sure tell you that my feathers dont look like that. Apparently I might need the video!! My guess would be more practice will make them better.

I did feathers for the first time yesterday...they didn't look nearly as good as yours. You did a good job on yours. I saw a video the other day where the quilter was putting a little bump on tops of the feather to get to the place where she needed to get to the place to make the next feather, instead of backtracking. Every other feather has the bump over it. It looked good. I'm going to try that next time.

Your feathers look great, I don't have the courage to try them yet.

First attempt- looking good! Must say it's one attempt more than I've made.

Wow, those came out really great for just finally trying that video's method. Keep up the great work.

You had great success on your first try. My first attempt is now in a landfill.

I do mine on a frame with a Brother 1500s, with a 9: throat. I only have a field of appx 4"-6" to work with. I do ok when moving from side to side, but attempted vertically and could only do a few loops. So I just turn the quilt and do them all side to side. Yours look great and I also practiced on paper first. I also practice when it has been a while to make sure I got the rhythm.
