What would be a good design
Well I made the this quilt for my 19month old son. This is the onesies he wore the first yr. I have been ready to get it on the frame. It will be going on the frame in a couple weeks. I want to top quilt it my self by hand. I want to be able to tell him I made this for him. Well I am very very new to hand quilting only got maybe 2hrs under my belt.
The first photo is the top and the second photo is the bottom

it is a lovely quilt and will be treasured for a long long time! I can tell it holds lots and lots of memories!! I wish I would have done that with both of my girls....too late now. I do have a collection of "special" t-shirts that I am hoping to put into quilts for them. Your quilt is a true inspiration for me!

That is adorable. I think I would stitch in the ditch....simple, easy and stitches won't show quite as much. That may not be important to you or maybe you make beautiful even stitches, but new quilters tend to stitch unevenly so in the ditch is a way to help hide the mistakes while you improve. If you find that your stitches are beautiful, then challenge yourself to stitch anywhere and anything for a design. You could even stitch words...repeating the words on his shirts or just writing "love words" for your baby. Love the top and the bottom! They are really pretty and what a keepsake for later on.
