This one turned out just as I had seen it in my mind's eye - woohoo! I took the spirit of the original pattern (on the Red Rooster site), sashed it to give it some separation and did the border/binding to mimic the frames around the printed panels. I put the last stitch in the binding at 12:30 last night, and hung it in the Dining Room over the Buffet - I just couldn't wait till morning, silly me

I learned several things doing this piece. I can do curves with my walking foot if I decrease the pressure foot pressure - who knew? (Not me, obviously!) Bias Binding and Starch are a match made in Heaven - starch was sent just to help control the beast  Bead Board in the outside border looks cool 8)

I'm still waiting on my thread to come in, and when it does I may just take her down and play some more with McTavishing and free motion in the sashing. I'll probably add something to the back to stabilize it for hanging because of the wavy border too. Can't wait to see what I learn then

I think this is my favorite of the pieces I've done so far!

I saw this border treatment on a longarm quilting video, and just had to try it. It's tedious on a regular sewing machine, but worth it, I think!

That's really nice. I love the wavy border. Did you just cut it free hand like that or did you use some sort of template? The colors are very soothing.

That is beautiful! No wonder it's your favorite. I love how the wavy border adds a certain sophistication to the charm of it.
