That is just what I said when I saw it! On cold winter night many would be thankful to have it.

Neither one is ugly. The first one reminds me of my Grandmother's quilts. Lots of good memories cuddling under those.

Grammynan, I like your "ugly" quilt. If it needs a place to live, I know a really nice person who would love it :) and give it a nice home with loads of cuddles. :)

I have a tote I made and an Advent Calendar that are both ugly! The first person that complements me on them will own them!

I agree that neither is ugly! The first one reminds me of my great grandmother's quilts that we still have. Functional and practical always won out over pretty anyday at her house! My love of quilts came from one that looks a lot like the first one here. I still love my memories of crawling in that cold bed with all those quilts on me to stay warm. My grandmother who was the greatest person in the world and a little large in my mind would crawl in the old iron bed and we would sink to the middle and she would tell me stories until I fell asleep. They had a wood stove in the main room of the house but not the bedrooms. Ah the good old days. Times were simpler and just easier all around.

I had one but can't the the photo from my phone for some reason. Think I'll use it for practice machine quilting. I really need practice and since it is ugly already....Well its perfect to practice on.

I immediately thought of those pioneer womens quilts when I say yours, a utility quilt which has a charm all of its own. I would definately finish it.I have made similar kinds of quilts which I use as a picnic rug and I keep it in the car.
