Default Under the Sea Braid

This is a quilt for a charity that I was asked to get done for a friend who had a graduation and did not feel confident enough to quilt. I made up my own pantograph drawing using Laura Lee Fritz's one line drawings, set them on my paper roll using two sheets taped together to get a good design using whales, dolphins, star fish, crabs, sea turtles, waves, vegetation, seal lions, rock fish, and a couple of other fish. It took 30 minutes to go across my drawing 54". I put the center as an acquarium, did turtles in the dark blue border, and waves in the outer border because it was so busy you could not see anything anyway and on the other side, the back, you could see all the work. I left the inner border alone so it would be like a frame outlining the center masterpiece. It took me over 10 hours to quilt. I was exhausted after quilting it. It was worth it.

Like the backing and all your quilting designs. Love how all the colors in the braid play off each other. Thanks for sharing.
