You did a great job on all those different blocks! Great fabric choice for the backing. My DH is a civil war buff too. Are you going to hand quilt or machine quilt it? :-D

Patty,

This quilt was my first attempt other than a nine patch and friendship star combo in my avatar pic. I loved the challenge and I really enjoyed learning how to make the different blocks. If I could do it, so can you.

Blessings to you,
Sandi

Thank Miss Ditter,
Right now the quilt top is hanging on one of our living room walls. Hubby decided he wanted it hung there before I could actually put the batting and backing together. I guess that is a good thing as we just booked a space for the Antique/Craft Show here next month. We have used that quilt top as a background behind us. It does draw attention and it has sparked many a conversation during the 'Shows' we have been a part of.
When it comes time to quilt it, I do think I will machine quilt it.

Blessings,
Sandi

Good for you. You did a great job. I've been quilting off and on for 47 years and my techniques are really out dated to what they are now so we shall see. I will share when it's done in a year or so time. LOL. Being a hand quilter it will take time to complete.

Very nice. There is a novel with the Underground Railroad theme from the Elm Creek Quilts series by Jennifer Chiavierni. It too brings out the questions of validity to this theory. No conclusions were drawn.

You did a great job. The colors are nice and bright not drab and dreary like some CW fabrics.

Its a real beauty I love it Dera - you did a wonderful job. I like your DH adore anything CW related.

I purchased E Burns book about 2 years ago & still haven't attempted to make any of the blocks, however I did do the Pioneer BOM here on the board about 12 months ago. I am now in the process of pulling it all together with borders & sashings.
If you want to see a pictures of all of my blocks just give me a nudge.

Hello Tisha,
Here's your nudge. I would love to see all your blocks. I love the Pioneer BOM. I have several quilt books with different Sampler blocks I want to do.

Blessings to you,
Sandi
