I love the real thrities prints, they are so much softer in color than the replica prints but still have that nice punch of color. Does the quilt have a binding? If it does you could replace it. There are tons of vintage cottons on ebay for sale. Good luck!

I bought a trip around the world that looks just like this one on ebay!! It fits a double bed like a bedspread. The whole thing is hand made. Piecing, and quilting. Its one of my faborite quilts. I couldn't believe it when I got it in the mail. It is in perfect shape, no wear and tear. And I paid about 40$ for it including shipping. I think it was made in the 30's. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I just love the pastel colors. I just don't understand why anyone would want to get rid of an old quilt. Where ever I was going to move, that quilt would go right along with me. You are fortunate to get it.

Oh, I have one of those - done with 30's fabrics ( yes, 1930's). Had it on my bed growing up and it has always been a favorite of mine.Love the colors. Now my goal is to make one with fabrics I have purchased in travels around the world.

Wonderful find! Maybe you can replace the binding if it's worn, just a thought.

I really think that trying to replace it would take away the value. I have decided to whip stitch the frayed edges so they won't fray more and keep it like it is.

This obviously was made before the days of strip-quilting. Can you imagine cutting all those tiny pieces individually ..... and without a rotary cutter? And then sewing them individually into place?

I made a baby quilt like this years ago. It was beautiful but so time-consuming. And I have some of the pieces for a full size quilt cut (individually), but I can't get up the courage to tackle it.

    What a treasure you have!

That is really pretty. I love the center of the quilt with the yellow blocks and then the way the way she placed the different rows.
Thank you for posting a picture of it. :)
