The Yeats Country Quilters number between 10 and 12 most years, and generally try to have a small exhibition each year. We are lucky to be able to show our quilts in the Banqueting Hall of a small local castle, built on the shores of Lough Gill, near Sligo, but actually in Leitrim County.

This Castle was rebuilt from a ruin some years ago, and is now open to the public throughout the summer months.

Some of the quilts on display - I couldn't photograph quite a few, because of the lighting problems. There is minimal artiificial lighting, to try and be in keeping with the original use of the castle. Windows are fairly small, walls about 2ft thick.

This one you will recognise, because part of it forms my avatar. I called it 'Cold Comfort'.

Some of our Project Linus quilts, destined for Sligo Hospital. The quilt, top left is double sided, embroidered with teddies, on blue and pink

More exhibits

More Project Linus quilts on one of the windowsills (sorry about the light on this one)

The same stars were used in this one, but with a different arrangement, and sashing fabric was the same as background, so stars appear to float

A Sampler quilt, all different stars

And some more...

Half in shadow, and half in light doesn't make a good pic, sorry.

There has to be a Sunbonnet Sue included, doesn't there?

Had enough yet?

A fun quilt, with hob nail booted spider, knitting its own web

Celtic knotwork (hand applied bias tape, in this case, it was multicoloured)

Detail of above, I hope it is not too fuzzy to see properly
