Awesome find! It would be difficult to find some vintage yardage for the backing, so muslin would probably be the second best option. Though, I do have some vintage yardage, but I don't think it would work with your tops.

All are very pretty, you sure got a great bargain. Good for you.
Yes, I would back them with plain muslin and bind with a color to go with them, or close. To wash them I would spray with shout or something like it and soak for about 5 minutes and agitate just a few minutes, the soaking will soften anything that may be on them and loosen the stains, this is how I wash all my quilts. Good luck and enjoy them.

You bet it is high! We went down to the Ohio River and it is about 6 feet over the flood stage. It is receding now but there is more rain in the forecast. When you feel up to it and want to make a trip to Guhls get in touch with me. You are in my prayers.
