I finished restoring and quilting the Dresden Plate quilt top that was found in the attic of the house that we purchased from an estate in 1994. Here are the pics of the quilt w/the repairs done and quilted w/a ribbon meander. I was lucky enough to find a green thread that matched perfectly. Found a suitable fabric for binding. Just a heads up on the repairs, there were many great suggestions about how to fix the holes in the quilt. I went w/cutting the corners off. Within 5 minutes of doing that, I had a head slapping "DUH" moment. I was ironing the back and noticed all of the fabric behind the plates that would have been perfect for the repairs and I wouldn't have lost the corners.

Nice job. I really like the way you labeled it with the picture of the house and all the info. I'm not an expert on fabric dating but some of those look like feedsacks. Do you have any idea how old it is?

I really like what you did to restore this quilt. I have an old top from my grand-mother-in-law that I will soon be working on. I was told to put as much info on the quilt label as possible. I like what you did with your label and think I will find a picture of her to put on it with all her info. I really like your "found" quilt! Great job!!

I have no idea how old the quilt top is. I've had it since 1994. Marcella had been dead for several years by the time that we bought her house. The top was found in the attic under the blown-in cellulose insulation. She had been in a wheel chair for several years before her death. Some fabrics look like remnants of clothing.

No worries about a belated "ah ha moment". I like what you did with the corners. And your quilt label is wonderful. Great way to record the history of this quilt.

First love what you've done with it. Looks gorgeous! For security's sake though, I would cover your label before posting it again. I think it's great how you've worded the label but should be private. So if you post on any other social media, I would delete the photo and you can repost another with your private information covered. Just a courtesy security suggestion. You just never know who's looking.

I appreciate what you say, but I have been a realtor for 23 years. My info (home phone, cell phone, pic) have been posted for almost 20 years. I am more concerned about doing open houses in a rural vacant house (I don't do open houses anymore), because they know where you are and when you are going to be there.
